* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
West central Leelanau County in northern Michigan...
* Until 1130 AM EDT.
* At 1101 AM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from 19 miles northwest of Glen Haven to 8 miles west of
Sleeping Bear Point, moving northeast at 55 mph.
HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and nickel size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.
* These severe thunderstorms will remain over mainly rural areas of
west central Leelanau County.
Instruction:
For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.
If on the water, get away from the water and move indoors or inside
a vehicle. Remember, lightning can strike out to 15 miles from the
parent thunderstorm. If you can hear thunder, you are close enough
to be struck by lightning. Move to safe shelter now! Do not be
caught on the water in a thunderstorm.
