...The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in Mississippi... Jourdan River Near Kiln/Bay St. Louis affecting Hancock County. For the Jourdan River...including Kiln/Bay St. Louis...Major flooding is forecast. * WHAT...Major flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Jourdan River near Kiln/Bay St. Louis. * WHEN...Until Saturday morning. * IMPACTS...At 10.0 feet, Homes along the river on the south bank will flood. Water will be over the road near the bridge approach. Backwater flooding will threaten property east of Highway 43. Access to the river will be restricted. At 12.0 feet, Major flooding will occur downstream of Highway 43. The highway will be closed with deep swift water over the roadway north of the bridge. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 7:45 AM CDT Friday the stage was 10.7 feet. - Bankfull stage is 4.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 11.0 feet this afternoon. - Flood stage is 6.0 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 10.7 feet on 08/29/2012. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
