* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Northern Madison County in southeastern Missouri... Saint Francois County in southeastern Missouri... * WHEN...Until 515 AM CDT. * IMPACTS...Overflowing poor drainage areas. River or stream flows are elevated. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 211 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1.5 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Farmington, Bonne Terre, Desloge, Fredericktown, Bismarck, Leadwood, Park Hills, Iron Mountain Lake, Junction City, Cobalt, Knob Lick, Roselle, Iron Mountain, Leadington, Doe Run, Libertyville, Mine La Motte, Catherine Place, Frankclay and French Village.
Instruction: 
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route.
