* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
* WHERE...Sainte Genevieve County in southeastern Missouri...
* WHEN...Until 615 AM CDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 322 AM CDT, Heavy rain is diminishing, but lingering runoff
may continue to cause Minor flooding in the advisory area.
Between 1 and 4 inches of rain have fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are expected over
the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Ste. Genevieve, Bloomsdale, St. Mary, Weingarten, Rocky Ridge,
Coffman, Womac, River Aux Vases and Minnith.
Instruction:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
Flooding is occurring or is imminent. It is important to know where
you are relative to streams, rivers, or creeks which can become
killers in heavy rains. Campers and hikers should avoid streams or
creeks.
