River forecasts are based on observed precipitation and forecast precipitation for the next 24 hours. * WHAT...Moderate flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast. This approaches the flood of record. * WHERE...Black River near Annapolis. * WHEN...Until Monday afternoon. * IMPACTS...At 27.4 feet, This is the RECORD FLOOD LEVEL that was reached on November 14 1993. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 9:15 AM CDT Friday the stage was 21.8 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 9:15 AM CDT Friday was 21.8 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 27.0 feet just after midnight tonight. It will then fall below flood stage late Sunday morning. - Flood stage is 8.0 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 27.4 feet on 11/14/1993. This flood will approach or exceed the highest flood of record documented at this river gage.
