...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Missouri... Meramec River near Sullivan. Meramec River near Steelville. River forecasts are based on observed precipitation and forecast precipitation for the next 24 hours. * WHAT...Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Meramec River near Sullivan. * WHEN...Until Tuesday morning. * IMPACTS...Below 22.0 feet, Missouri Route W may become available for use beyond Route JJ. Below 21.0 feet, Sappington Bridge Road just north of the Meramec River bridge may become available for use. Below 18.5 feet, Missouri Route N may become available for use in both directions. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 8:29 AM CDT Saturday the stage was 22.8 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 8:29 AM CDT Saturday was 23.6 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage early Monday morning and continue falling to 4.4 feet Friday morning. - Flood stage is 11.0 feet.

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Rainfall heavier than forecast could cause river levels to rise even higher than predicted.
