Description:
At 652 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line from 5
miles southeast of Mexico to near Fulton, moving east at 45 mph.
HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.
SOURCE...At 620PM An Emergency Manager reported several trees down
across roads in the city of Columbia.
IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect considerable
tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to mobile homes,
roofs, and outbuildings.
Locations impacted include...
Hatton, Thompson, Kingdom City, Mexico, Auxvasse, Fulton, Vandiver,
Guthrie, Carrington, Benton City, Shamrock, Williamsburg,
Martinsburg, Mokane and Reform.
This includes Interstate 70 in Missouri between exits 137 and 161.
Instruction:
Anyone outdoors should move to shelter inside a well-built structure
and stay away from windows. These storms are capable of producing
widespread damaging winds and large hail.
Wind damage with these storms will occur before any rain or
lightning. Do not wait for the sound of thunder before taking cover.
Seek shelter immediately inside a sturdy structure and stay away from
windows.
