Description:
At 855 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Colonia, or near Linden, moving east at 35 mph.
HAZARD...Winds in excess of 30 mph.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.
Locations impacted include...
Jersey City, Elizabeth, Flatbush, Bayonne, Hoboken, Plainfield,
Linden, Coney Island, Todt Hill, Crown Heights, Huguenot, Midtown
Manhattan, The Verrazano Narrows Bridge, Canarsie, and Bay Ridge.
This includes the following event locations Brooklyn Bridge Park,
Liberty State Park, Governors Island, Sullivans Homeport Pier,
Battery Park, Hoboken Waterfront, Hudson River Park Pier 34, East
River Promenade, Hunters Point, and Staten Island University Hospital
Community Park.
Instruction:

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
