Description:
At 219 PM EDT, local law enforcement reported thunderstorms
producing heavy rain across the warned area. Flooding has been
reported along portions of Route 1 and the New Jersey Turnpike.
Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall
rate is 2 to 3 inches in 1 hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to
2 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is already
occurring.
HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Law enforcement reported.
IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,
urban areas, highways, streets, and underpasses.

New Jersey Turnpike between exits 10 and 12.
Interstate 287 in New Jersey between mile markers 0 and 20.
Interstate 78 in New Jersey between mile markers 33 and 42.
Garden State Parkway between mile markers 125 and 133.
Instruction:
Turn around...don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most
flood deaths occur in vehicles.
