The National Weather Service in El Paso has issued a
* Dust Advisory for...
Southeastern Luna County in southwestern New Mexico...
Southwestern Dona Ana County in south central New Mexico...
* Until 615 PM MDT.
* At 535 PM MDT, outflow winds from decaying thunderstorms over
northern Chihuahua were pushing north towards portions of Highway
9 between Mount Riley Ranch Road and Columbus. Given the where the
winds are coming from, blowing dust is likely to push into the
area.
HAZARD...Less than one mile visibility with strong wind in excess
of 40 mph.

IMPACT...Hazardous travel.
Locations impacted include...
Columbus, Carzalia Valley, and Camel Mountain.
A stronger thunderstorm is also located just south of the
international border, and close to the Luna and Dona Ana County
line. This storm could produce stronger wind gusts to 50 mph, and
kick up even more dust.
Instruction:
Blowing dust brings reduced visibility, leading to dangerous driving
conditions. If driving, avoid blowing dust if possible. If caught in
dense blowing dust, pull off the road, turn off your lights and keep
your foot off the brake.
