At 444 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near Raton, moving east at 20 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and penny size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible. Hail may accumulate on roadways causing hazardous travel. Locations impacted include... Raton, Sugarite and Sugarite Canyon State Park. This includes the following highways... Highway 64 between Mile Markers 343 and 359. Interstate 25 between Mile Markers 445 and 460.
