Description:
At 244 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a line of strong
thunderstorms extending from 6 miles northeast of Torreon to western
Rio Rancho to 18 miles west of South Valley, moving east at 35 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.
Locations impacted include...
Albuquerque, Rio Rancho, Bernalillo, Corrales, Los Ranchos De
Albuquerque, Northern Meadows, Paradise Hills, Cabezon, Rio Rancho
City Center and Rio Rancho Intel Area.
This includes the following highways...
Interstate 40 between Mile Markers 132 and 157. Highway 550 between
Mile Markers 1 and 14. Interstate 25 between Mile Markers 235 and
243.
Instruction:
Monitor the weather situation closely and be alert for threatening
weather conditions.
Blowing dust associated with strong thunderstorm winds can reduce
visibility below one quarter mile at times.
