Description:
At 410 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking an area of strong
thunderstorms extending from 9 miles north of Saint Vrain to 9 miles
northeast of Elida, moving northeast at 10 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and penny size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Clovis, Portales, Melrose, Oasis State Park, Saint Vrain, Cannon
Air Force Base, Ranchvale, Floyd and Portair.
This includes Highway 60 between Mile Markers 361 and 389.
Instruction:
Monitor the weather situation closely and be alert for threatening
weather conditions.
Blowing dust associated with strong thunderstorm winds can reduce
visibility below one quarter mile at times.
