North Central Bernalillo County in central New Mexico... * Until 530 PM MDT. * At 343 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain has fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 2 inches in 1 hour. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Eastern Albuquerque, Sandia Heights, South Valley and Carnuel. This includes the following highways... Interstate 40 between Mile Markers 160 and 171. Interstate 25 near Mile Marker 223...and between Mile Markers 229 and 235.
