Description:
* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible.
* WHERE...The South Central Mountains including the Ruidoso area burn
scars.
* WHEN...From noon MDT today through this afternoon.
* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur
in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water crossings may be
flooded. Storm drains and ditches may become clogged with debris.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Storms that develop over the Sacramento Mountains in the early
afternoon will be capable of producing rainfall rates in excess
of 1 inch per hour. The general storm motion will be towards the
southwest, although slow and erratic motion should be expected.
The greatest risk for flash flooding will be over the South Fork
burn scar during the early afternoon hours from Noon to 4 PM MDT.
