Description:
* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.
* WHERE...A portion of west central New Mexico, including the
following areas, Southwest Mountains, West Central Mountains and
West Central Plateau.
* WHEN...From noon MDT today through this evening.
* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Scattered showers and thunderstorms capable of producing heavy
rainfall will impact much of west central NM again this
afternoon. Rainfall rates in excess of 2 inches per hour are
possible due to abundant moisture persisting across the area.
Slow and erratic storm motions may result in repeated rounds of
precipitation. Areas that have recently had heavy rainfall will
be more susceptible to flash flooding.
