...RED FLAG WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM NOON TO 7 PM MDT TODAY DUE TO STRONG WINDS, AN UNSTABLE ATMOSPHERE, AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY FOR THE NORTHWEST QUADRANT OF NEW MEXICO... .Very dry air enters northwestern New Mexico today, with many areas seeing 6 to 12 hours of single digit relative humidity. Winds strengthening to 15 to 25 mph, deep atmospheric mixing, and very dry fuels will increase the risk of rapid fire spread. * AFFECTED AREA...Northwest Plateau (Zone 101), West Central Mountains (Zone 105), North Central Mountains (Zone 120), and Upper Rio Grande Valley and Lower Chama River Valley (Zone 121). * TIMING...From noon today to 7 PM MDT this evening. * 20 FOOT WINDS...West winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...Relative humidity between 5 to 10 percent. * IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will spread rapidly.
