NEW MEXICO...
.Critical fire weather conditions today focus over the northeast
portion of the state, with elevated to near critical conditions
prevailing elsewhere. Isolated dry storms in central and northern New
Mexico Tuesday afternoon may start new fires and create gusty and
erratic outflow wind gusts. Confidence in critical fire weather
conditions Tuesday is highest in the northwest portion of the state,
with lower confidence in the northeast where humidities are trending
higher.
* AFFECTED AREA...Northeast Plains (Zone 104) and Northeast Highlands
(Zone 123).
* TIMING...For the Red Flag Warning, until 7 PM MDT this evening. For
the Fire Weather Watch, from Tuesday afternoon through Tuesday
evening.
* 20 FOOT WINDS...For the Red Flag Warning, southwest winds 20 to 30
mph with gusts up to 45 mph, and for the Fire Weather Watch, south
winds 20 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph.
* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...For the Red Flag Warning, Relative Humidity
between 7 to 11 percent, and for the Fire Weather Watch, Relative
Humidity between 13 to 17 percent.
* IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will spread rapidly. Outdoor
burning is not recommended.
