Description:
At 1014 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Ellenville, moving east at 25 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and heavy rainfall.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.
Locations impacted include...
New Paltz, Ellenville, Wallkill, Plattekill, Highland, Modena,
Kerhonkson, Napanoch, Wawarsing, Lloyd, Crawford, Gardiner, Tuckers
Corner, Forest Glen, Dwaarkill, Awosting, Elting Corners, Ireland
Corners, Cragsmoor, and Honk Hill.
This includes Interstate 87 near exit 18.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead
to localized poor drainage flooding. Do not drive your vehicle
through flooded roadways. Additional rainfall amounts of a half an
inch to an inch are possible.
