At 236 PM EDT, Local law enforcement reported flash flooding with road closures in Farmingdale. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or may begin shortly in others areas in the warning. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by heavy rain and embedded thunderstorms. SOURCE...Law enforcement reported. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Islip, Brentwood, Deer Park, Lindenhurst, Ronkonkoma, Babylon, Robert Moses State Park, Bay Shore, Melville, Sayville, Amityville, Captree State Park, Gilgo State Park, Central Islip, West Islip, Copiague, North Bay Shore, East Islip, Wyandanch and Bohemia.
