Description:
At 830 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from near Macomb to 7 miles north of Dexter, moving east at
50 mph.
HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect considerable
tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to mobile homes,
roofs, and outbuildings.
Locations impacted include...
Fort Drum, Carthage, Clayton, Dexter, Glen Park, Herrings, Redwood,
Kring Point State Park, Wellesley Island State Park, and Cedar Point
State Park.
This includes Interstate 81 between exits 48 and 52.
Instruction:
For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.
These storms are producing widespread wind damage across Northern
Jefferson County. SEEK SHELTER NOW inside a sturdy structure and
stay away from windows.
Continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature's leading
killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to
be struck by lightning.
