At 1245 AM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Newton Falls, moving southeast at 60 mph. THIS IS A DESTRUCTIVE STORM FOR DEGRASSE AND RUSSELL. HAZARD...Three inch hail and 70 mph wind gusts. SOURCE...Law enforcement. IMPACT...People and animals outdoors will be severely injured. Expect shattered windows, extensive damage to roofs, siding, and vehicles. Locations impacted include... Clare, Colton, Hermon, Clifton, Russell, Edwards, Fine, Pierrepont, Pitcairn, Piercefield, Canton, Hopkinton, South Edwards, Degrasse, Newton Falls, Childwold, Shurtleff, West Pierrepont, Lower Oswegatchie, and Aldrich.
Instruction: 
This is a dangerous storm. Prepare immediately for large destructive hail capable of producing significant damage. People outside should move to a shelter, inside a strong building and away from windows. To report severe weather contact your nearest law enforcement agency. They will send your report to the National Weather Service office in Burlington. Continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature's leading killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning. If on or near area lakes, get away from the water and move indoors or inside a vehicle. Remember, lightning can strike out to 15 miles from the parent thunderstorm.
