* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of eastern North Carolina, including the following counties, Beaufort, Hyde, Martin, Tyrrell and Washington. * WHEN...Until 600 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 258 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Up to 3 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 1.5 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Washington, Plymouth, Pinetown, Pungo, Hinson, Wenona, Pike Road, Terra Ceia, Old Ford, Pungo Lake, Phelps Lake, Long Acre VFD, Jamesville, Smithwick and Dardens. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
