Description: 
At 749 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking outflow winds from strong thunderstorms along a line extending from Roxboro to near Rougemont to near Hillsborough to 10 miles northeast of Siler City. Movement was east at 45 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Raleigh, Durham, Cary, Chapel Hill, Henderson, Oxford, Creedmoor, Wake Forest, Butner, and Franklinton.

Strong winds may occur well ahead of any rain or lightning. Do not wait for the sound of thunder before taking cover. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building and stay away from windows. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 1100 PM EDT for central North Carolina.
