Description:
At 132 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from 9 miles southwest of Halifax to 9 miles
southwest of Scotland Neck. Movement was northeast at 35 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Halifax, Scotland Neck, Enfield, Hobgood, and Tillery.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 800 PM EDT for
central North Carolina.
