At 1223 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from 7 miles northwest of Sylva to 4 miles southwest of Bryson City to 9 miles east of Robbinsville to 9 miles west of Andrews. Movement was southeast at 35 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Franklin, Nantahala Lake, Burningtown, Kyle, Wayah Bald, Aquone, Cowee, and Rainbow Springs.
