At 232 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from 10 miles southwest of Hickory to 6 miles west of Lincolnton to 3 miles northeast of Shelby. Movement was east at 25 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to outdoor objects is possible. Locations impacted include... Shelby, Newton, Lincolnton, Gastonia, Mt Holly, Cherryville, Bessemer City, Dallas, Maiden, and Stanley.
