At 401 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong thunderstorms along a line extending from 6 miles southeast of Alton to near Graham to 9 miles east of High Rock Lake. Movement was east at 25 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Greensboro, Durham, High Point, Chapel Hill, Burlington, Asheboro, Lexington, Graham, Oxford, and Roxboro. This includes the following highways... Interstate 85 between Mile Markers 33 and 35, and between Mile Markers 84 and 210. Interstate 40 between Mile Markers 132 and 162, and between Mile Markers 221 and 280. the Durham Freeway between Mile Markers 3 and 17. Interstate 73 between Mile Markers 60 and 97. Interstate 74 between Mile Markers 72 and 79.
