Description:
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible.
* WHERE...A portion of eastern North Carolina, including the
following areas, Mainland Dare and Northern Outer Banks.
* WHEN...Until 8 PM EDT this evening.
* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. A few trees
may fall due to very saturated soils.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Areas of moderate to heavy rain will persist for a few more
hours this afternoon with a continued risk of minor flooding.
For portions of the Outer Banks that have seen the most
rainfall recently, especially along the Highway 12 corridor,
flooding impacts may last beyond the ending of the heavy rain
as floodwaters will be slow to recede.
