Description:
At 400 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from 8 miles west of Badin Lake to Plyler to 6 miles east
of Midland to Unionville to near Mineral Springs, moving east at 35
mph.
HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and nickel size hail.
SOURCE...Law enforcement. At 400 PM, trees were being reported down
near the town of Oakboro in Stanly County.
IMPACT...Expect considerable tree damage. Damage is likely to mobile
homes, roofs, and outbuildings.
Locations impacted include...
Albemarle, Wadesboro, Troy, Badin Lake, Biscoe, Ansonville, Plyler,
Midland, Polkton, and Locust.
This includes the following highways...
Interstate 85 near Mile Marker 83.
Interstate 73 between Mile Markers 46 and 60.
