Northeastern Pamlico County in eastern North Carolina... * Until 1015 PM EDT. * At 918 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Sladesville, or 29 miles east of River Road, moving east at 20 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees. * Locations impacted include... Belhaven, Sladesville, Gull Rock, Swindell Fork, Scranton, Fairfield, New Holland, Pamlico Beach, Lowland, Nebraska, Leechville, Winsteadville, Rose Bay, Lake Landing, Middletown, Fort Landing, Lake Mattamuskeet, and Swan Quarter Ferry Terminal.

Wind damage with this storm will occur before any rain or lightning. Do not wait for the sound of thunder before taking cover. SEEK SHELTER IMMEDIATELY inside a sturdy structure and stay away from windows. Large hail, damaging wind, and continuous cloud to ground lightning are occurring with this storm. Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature's leading killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning. Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
