Description:
At 455 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Clayton, or 11
miles southeast of Raleigh, moving east at 10 mph.
HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.
Locations impacted include...
Clayton, Zebulon, Knightdale, Wendell, Emit, Flowers, and Buckhorn
Reservoir.
This includes the following highways...
Interstate 40 between Mile Markers 308 and 312.
NC Highway 264 between Mile Markers 20 and 22.
Instruction:
Straight line winds can blow down trees, power lines, and damage
mobile homes and other buildings. Seek shelter in a sturdy structure
until the storm has passed. Stay away from windows as flying debris
generated by damaging winds can be deadly.
Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
