Description: 
At 1048 PM CDT /948 PM MDT/, severe thunderstorms were located along a line from 9 miles south of Washburn to 6 miles southwest of Westfield, or along a line from 24 miles north of Mandan to 20 miles south of Linton, moving east at 45 mph. HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE...Trained spotters reported. IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect considerable tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings. Locations impacted include... Bismarck, Mandan, Linton, Lincoln, Washburn, New Salem, Wilton, Center, Strasburg, Hazelton, Fort Yates, Menoken, Wing, Sterling, Solen, Hague, Westfield, Cannon Ball, Regan and Braddock.
Instruction: 
Anyone outdoors should move to shelter inside a well-built structure and stay away from windows. These storms have produced widespread damaging winds and are capable of producing large hail. Intense thunderstorm lines can produce brief tornadoes and widespread significant wind damage. Although a tornado is not immediately likely, it is best to move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. These storms may cause serious injury and significant property damage. A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1200 AM CDT /1100 PM MDT/ for a portion of south central North Dakota.
