A Tropical Storm Warning has now been issued for Tinian, Saipan, and the adjacent coastal waters. A Tropical Storm Warning means damaging winds of 39 mph or more are imminent or will occur shortly. .AREAS AFFECTED... This local statement provides important information and recommended actions for people in Guam and the Northern Marianas. .Watches/Warnings... A Tropical storm warning is in effect for Tinian and Saipan. A Tropical Storm Warning means damaging winds of 39 mph or more are imminent or will occur shortly. All persons in the warning areas should already have preparations underway to protect life and property. .STORM INFORMATION... At 11 AM ChST...the center of Tropical Storm Higos (08W) was located near latitude 14.6N...longitude 145.6E. This was about 90 miles north-northeast of Guam, and about 25 miles south of Tinian.
