Description: 
At 932 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated between 1.5 and 2 inches of rain have fallen from thunderstorms earlier this morning. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Huntington, Hamlin, Chesapeake, Proctorville, Beech Fork State Park, Lake Vesuvius, Barboursville, Ceredo, Ona, Burlington, Aid, West Hamlin, Athalia, Pea Ridge, Lavalette, Scottown, Salt Rock and Branchland. This includes Interstate 64 in West Virginia between mile markers 4 and 24.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads. Report flooding to the National Weather Service by calling toll free, 800 401 9535, when you can do so safely.
