...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 315 PM CDT THIS AFTERNOON FOR SOUTHWESTERN ATOKA COUNTY... At 1259 PM CDT, local law enforcement and emergency management reported life threatening flash flood impacts across the warned area, including multiple ongoing water rescues near Bentley, Caney, and Tushka. Pavement is completely washed away on Forrest Hill and Bethany Church Roads, and Gin Road and Katy Roads are impassable. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol has closed portions of U.S. Highway 69/75 due to flood waters between Tushka and Caney. Between 4 and 8 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring. This is a FLASH FLOOD EMERGENCY for Bentley and Caney. This is a PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS SITUATION. SEEK HIGHER GROUND NOW! HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing flash flooding. SOURCE...Law enforcement reported. IMPACT...This is a PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS SITUATION. SEEK HIGHER GROUND NOW! Life threatening flash flooding of low water crossings, small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Tushka, Caney, Lane, Bentley and Boggy Depot Park.

Move to higher ground now! This is an extremely dangerous and life-threatening situation. Do not attempt to travel unless you are fleeing an area subject to flooding or under an evacuation order. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
