Chikaskia River near Blackwell affecting Grant and Kay Counties. * WHAT...Moderate flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Chikaskia River near Blackwell. * WHEN...From this evening to early Saturday afternoon. * IMPACTS...At 31.0 feet, Several city blocks in the northeast portions of Blackwell may be affected. Streets closest to the river may be nearly impassable... with depths approaching 2 feet. Highway 177 north of Blackwell is overtopped... and Hubbard Road southeast of Blackwell is closed. Rural lands are covered by floodwaters ranging up to 3 feet in depth in extreme northeastern Grant and Kay counties. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1:30 PM CDT Thursday the stage was 26.3 feet. - Bankfull stage is 28.0 feet. - Forecast...The Chikaskia River is expected to rise above flood stage late this evening to a crest of 31.3 feet early tomorrow afternoon.
