Northern McCurtain County in southeastern Oklahoma... * Until 715 PM CDT. * At 618 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 30 miles north of Manchester, or 45 miles north of Clarksville, moving east at 60 mph. HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and small hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Expect considerable tree damage. Damage is likely to mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings. * Locations impacted include... Mount Herman, Sherwood, Bethel, Battiest, Hochatown, Smithville, Pickens, Watson, Plunketville, Ringold and Rufe.

Anyone outdoors should move to shelter inside a well-built structure and stay away from windows. This storm is capable of producing widespread damaging winds. Continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Lightning is one of nature's leading killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
