...Scattered dry and wet thunderstorms develop on Friday...
.An upper level low will inject elevated moisture to the region
by Friday morning. Storms will track towards the north through
the day. A mix of dry and wet storms will provide abundant
lightning to the region through Friday evening.
The National Weather Service in Medford has issued a Red Flag
Warning, which is in effect from 1 PM Friday to 1 AM PDT
Saturday. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect.
* IMPACTS...Abundant lightning on dry fuels will likely create new
ignitions across the region. Any fires that develop could spread
rapidly. Numerous new fire starts could overwhelm initial
attack.
* AFFECTED AREA...Fire weather zones 624 and 625, covering most
of Klamath and Lake Counties. The southern portions of the
zones near the California border have the highest chances of
seeing abundant lightning.
* THUNDERSTORMS...Moving northeast around 20 to 25 mph. Storm
mode will be a mix of dry and wet thunderstorms.
* OUTFLOW WINDS...Gusts up to 35 mph.
