...RED FLAG WARNING FOR LIGHTNING...
.An upper trough from the Pacific is forecast into southeast
Oregon this afternoon, and southwest Idaho tonight into Saturday.
The trough will bring a 20 to 40 percent chance of thunderstorms
with potential for new fire starts due to lightning. Initial
storms may be dry with strong gusty outflow winds, especially in
southeast Oregon, but storms overnight through Saturday will
gradually trend wetter as they spread into Idaho.
* AFFECTED AREA...In Oregon, Fire Weather Zones 670 Burns BLM
and 672 Southern Grasslands.
* TIMING...From 1 PM this afternoon to 5 AM PDT Saturday.
* THUNDERSTORMS...Scattered coverage with abundant lightning.
* OUTFLOW WINDS...Gusty erratic winds up to 50 mph.
* IMPACTS...Any fire that develops will catch and spread
quickly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.
