At 1151 AM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near Latrobe, moving east at 35 mph. Other strong storms were nearby. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Altoona, Johnstown, Westmont, Windber, Ebensburg, Belmont, Nanty-Glo, Portage, Geistown, Southmont, Cresson, Gallitzin, Vinco, Loretto, Boswell, Dale, East Conemaugh, Salix-Beauty Line Park, Davidsville, and Beaverdale-Lloydell.
Instruction: 
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Very heavy rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle. To report severe weather, contact your nearest law enforcement agency. They will relay your report to the National Weather Service office in State College PA.
