* WHAT...Dangerously hot conditions with heat index values up to 107 expected. * WHERE...Bedford, Blair, and Fulton Counties. * WHEN...Until 8 PM EDT Friday. * IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...High temperatures will be well into the 90s and may hit 100 degrees. Heat index values will be even higher. While temperatures will remain hot on Saturday, they should be a couple of degrees lower.
Instruction: 
Drink plenty of fluids, stay out of the sun, and stay in an air-conditioned room. Review heat safety and preparedness information at weather.gov/safety/heat. Power outages are possible during periods of extended heat as the extra demand for electricity can tax the power grid. Be prepared for a possible power outage.
