At 437 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near Whitmire, or 9 miles north of Newberry, moving north at 20 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible. Locations impacted include... Newberry, Whitmire, Newberry County Airport, Enoree Ranger District Office, and US-176 and SC-34 Crossroads. This includes Interstate 26 between mile markers 62 and 73.
