Jasper County in southeastern South Carolina...
* Until 1030 PM EDT.
* At 736 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated a large area of thunderstorm
with torrential rain extending from Almeda and Camp Branch to Early
Branch and McPhersonville. As much as 2 to 3 inches of rain have
fallen in this area over the past hour and a half. An additional 1
to 3 inches of rain could fall through 1030 PM, resulting in areas
of flash flooding.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
drainage and low-lying areas.
* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Yemassee, Varnville, Early Branch, Cummings, McPhersonville, Grays,
Almeda Intersection, Pocotaligo, Gillisonville and Coosawhatchie.
Instruction:
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
