* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is occurring. * WHERE...Berkeley County in southeastern South Carolina... Charleston County in southeastern South Carolina... * WHEN...Until 600 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Numerous roads remain closed due to flooding. Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall. Expect many areas of slow moving or standing water. It will take several hours for all the water from these storms to work through local drainage systems in urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 344 PM EDT, local law enforcement reported a number of road closures in Isle of Palms, Mount Pleasant and surrounding areas from ongoing flooding. Between 3 and 5.5 inches of rain have fallen in these areas since around 1 PM. Emergency officials are describing this situation as dangerous and are asking people to stay off the roadways until conditions improve. The risk for additional flooding has diminished, but it will take some time for conditions to improve. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Mount Pleasant, Isle Of Palms, Sullivan's Island, Mount Pleasant Towne Centre, Boone Hall Plantation, Sullivans Island, Seaside Farms, East Cooper Regional Medical Center and Snowden. - This includes I-526 between mile markers 29 and 31.
