Description:
At 438 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Downtown
Greenville Downtown, or near West Greenville, moving southwest at 15
mph.
HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and penny size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Expect damage to trees and power lines.
Locations impacted include...
Greenville, Easley, Berea, Welcome, Powdersville, Cherrydale Point,
Furman University, and Piedmont.
Instruction:
Brief damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines over small
areas. A brief period of large hail is also possible. Seek shelter
inside an interior room.
Continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature's leading
killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to
be struck by lightning.
