At 129 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over I-26/I-526 Interchange, moving east at 15 mph. HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and small hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Expect considerable tree damage. Damage is likely to mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings. Locations impacted include... North Charleston, Mount Pleasant, Goose Creek, Hanahan, Daniel Island, Naval Weapons Station Charleston, I-26/I-526 Interchange, Downtown Charleston and West Ashley. This includes the following highways... I-26 between mile markers 207 and 220. I-526 between mile markers 14 and 31.

Anyone outdoors should move to shelter inside a well-built structure and stay away from windows. This storm is capable of producing widespread damaging winds. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
