Description:
At 955 PM MDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Elm Springs, or
37 miles northeast of Rapid City, moving east at 15 mph.
HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and half dollar size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect considerable
tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to mobile homes,
roofs, and outbuildings.
Locations impacted include...
New Underwood, Elm Springs, Curlew Lake and Viewfield.
This includes Interstate 90 in South Dakota between Mile Markers 73
and 91.
Instruction:
Anyone outdoors should move to shelter inside a well-built structure
and stay away from windows. This storm is capable of producing
widespread damaging winds and large hail.
