Description:
At 359 PM CDT /259 PM MDT/, a severe thunderstorm was located 8 miles
east of Wendte, or 11 miles southwest of Fort Pierre, moving east at
35 mph.
HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect considerable
tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to mobile homes,
roofs, and outbuildings.
This severe thunderstorm will remain over mainly rural areas of
Northeastern Jones, Northwestern Lyman and Southeastern Stanley
Counties.
Instruction:
Anyone outdoors should move to shelter inside a well-built structure
and stay away from windows. This storm is capable of producing
widespread damaging winds and large hail.
Report severe weather to your nearest law enforcement agency or the
National Weather Service office in Aberdeen SD.
