FFWMAF The National Weather Service in Midland/Odessa has issued a * Flash Flood Warning for... East Central Pecos County in southwestern Texas... Northeastern Terrell County in southwestern Texas... * Until 1100 AM CDT. * At 808 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 0.5 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen during the past hour over locations that have received very heavy rainfall since yesterday. The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 2 inches in 3 hours. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing flash flooding. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Sheffield and Terrell County Gas Plant. Portions of FM 2400 and State Highway 349.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route.
